For too long, we’ve forced children and families of our Hispanic communities into a one-size-fits-all system that dictates a student’s educational experience based on where they live. We need to re-evaluate our student’s educational experiences.
Florida lawmakers should work to expand educational freedom for every Hispanic student and family.
Recently passed legislation, HB 7045, will serve as a great first step in helping our children get the quality education they deserve. HB 7045 is the State House companion version of the K-12 scholarship legislation, such as SB 48. This legislation expands the number of children eligible for scholarships, breaking barriers and creating more opportunities for our students.
It’s time for our education system to prioritize our Hispanic students, not buildings and bureaucracies.
Encourage Gov. DeSantis to sign HB 7045 and ensure our students and families have access to a broad range of options beyond their assigned traditional public school!
