Criminal justice reform is a bipartisan issue in Washington, D.C., and across the country. The House was able come together and pass the FIRST STEP Act. Now it's time for the Senate to do the same and get the bill to the president's desk before the end of the year.
The FIRST STEP Act uses evidence-based risk and needs assessment tools that will be implemented in the criminal justice system to train and educate incarcerated individuals to successfully reenter their communities following release from prison.
By reducing recidivism, the FIRST STEP Act will make our streets communities safer, save billions in taxpayer dollars, and create opportunity for former offenders who have paid their debts to society and are hungry for the opportunity to positively transform their lives.
Tell senators to support the FIRST STEP Act, today!
