Do you remember your first job? Unfortunately, minimum wage hikes make it harder for many Latino workers to get a job by discouraging businesses from hiring more employees.
Research by the The LIBRE Institute shows that minimum wage hikes make it harder for Hispanics, young people and the less educated to get hired than the general population. In Seattle, raising the minimum wage to $13 an hour cost the average low-wage employee $1,500 in yearly income.
